Well upon fixing up this car my brother is going ot be using he topped up the oil and now it appears to be above the max on the dipstick(what he is aswell).

It started before easily enough but now its a no go. Could be the fact we had a lights on a few times when changing the bulbs and the battery is now dead but im not sure.

Could it possible be the oil?

Oh and i hate seized caliper bolts!!!!! :(

Nope wont be the oil, but depending how far over it is, you should drain a little out.

does it do anything, when you try to start it.

Oil seemed to have sorted itself out.....think he negated to tell me it was not level at the time(stay on a hill) but its reading fine when jacked up and sitting level.

Also got it started myself after a fair bit of turning over. Maybe because i deactivated the immobiliser :o

(he is that bad, went to fit the disks on to find its 4 stud instead of 5 so we will use the 4 studs on my dads laguna so not a total waste)

Black smoke on startup ok? Sometimes smokes white smoke when giving it revs what would this suggest on a diesel engine?

Oh and best tool for rounded bolts that can take a lot of torque? Need to source some new bolts to hold the carrier on...a royal PITA for a 11 year old car.
