Couldn't resist this:

Was going for "not much dosh" on another forum so thought I'd give it a try.
It's an pretty old AV processor (separate boxes for the pre-amp and digital decoder), so doesn't support HD audio formats and additionally had a fault on one of the motherboards, meaning no rear channels.
That's probably enough to put most people off. Making up for that, it's apparently also capable of being a brilliant stereo pre-amp, and despite it's age, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a rather good DAC too. Proceed are part of the Mark Levinson group, and as a unit, it's often compared to some of their dedicated stereo units. New, was close on £10k, so seemed worth a punt for the moola.

Turns up tomorrow, includes the original box, remote and a throw in learning remote. Looking forward to seeing how it compares to my existing Meridian processor. Just wondering if it might be able to outperform it. Even if it doesn't, might make a decent headphone amp, all 16kg of it.

Might aswell remove the sub.
Got the unit on Thurs evening. Played with it on Friday, and unfortunately, it's knackered.
I can get it up and running, lights on and also get video throughput.

What I can't get is any audio out of it, at all.
My guess is that the logic circuit that links the physical input/output socket to the buttons has failed. Might be repairable, but probably only by someone familiar with the unit.

The good news is that the seller was really cool about it and gave a full refund. I've put it up on Ebay for 99p, just incase someone with the skills to repair might find it of interest.

What you got a full refund without needing to return it?

Yep. Being fair, the unit is pretty knackered and it would have probably cost me close on £20 in fuel to return. So the guy was polite enough to say that's fine. After all, he had claimed it worked.

I've not looked at electronics in over 30 years. I'd rather give someone with the know how the opportunity.
