Blackpool #2? It has more Gatso's than any other place I have _ever_ been to! Sunderland is pretty bad though, its (nearly)all a one-way system.

SUNDERLAND IS GOOD?

What were they smoking when they dreamt that up?
Sunderland is good if you dont want to keep your car...

Out of intrest do you have the link to the full list?

I'd agree with the above about Sunderland, its not all that driver friendly. I didnt find Edinburgh too nice either.

Reading is fine for cars, good traffic system

On the good list should be milton keynes too, thats got very very good roads.

I disagree with number 8, Poole. One of the most congested towns i know around here, quite a number of gatsos and more traffic lights than a traffic light collectors back garden.

It's accurate on that count. The worst road surfaces I've ever come across and the lack of parking is abysmal. Add in the standard of muppetry shown by the other drivers and it's a nightmare.

No surprise to see Reading in the bottom 10. Rush hour traffic is appalling and parking prices are stupid.

On the flip side it is extremely motorcycle friendly with bikes being allowed in all of the bus lanes.

Nottingham deserves to be in the bottom 10, horrific rush hour traffic and a stupid new road layout that takes you 2 miles extra to get home :(

Sheffield needs to be in the bottom 10 as well though, the layout there is utterly useless

Yay for Dundee :D

Pretty decent there really (if you get rid of the Dundonians :p) Only major problem is the bridge (morning inbound and evening outbound) as it has roadworks for something silly like 97% of the year!

Also it has Tolls on the outbound lanes (heading south into Fife :D)

Well you might think that but no.. in non-rush hour then yes but otherwise;

Bad mpg due to accelerating a hell of a lot
High usage of brakes
Uneven wear on tyres as lots of right turning
Rush hour jams due to people freezing at r-bouts
Idiots not understanding how r-bouts work!

Its not bad but its nowhere very very good..

MK has good mobilty for traffic, even mid schol run you dont get held up that much.
Has a few fixed cams and they can be quite hot on the mobile in the centre.

Only thing about MK is it is hard on your car
Accelerate, brake, roundabout,Accelerate, brake, roundabout,Accelerate, brake, roundabout,Accelerate, brake, roundabout,Accelerate, brake, roundabout,

From my place to the M1 is something like 16 roundabout

Tough on brakes steering and fuel ecconomy.

And damn annoying if the sat nav is on.. "at the roundabout straight on" like a stuck record all the way from the motorway to the station :p

Ipswich at no 3????????

Have they actually been there? It's horrific, the whole place is a giant bloody one way system designed by a demented monkey with a spirograph!

Oxford needs to be in the bottom 10, total evil with their one way systems, cameras and pedestrian zones. I would much rather be sat in Reading traffic than go through Oxford.
