Top Gear has made an entry to this years Britcar 24 Hours at Silverstone. Presenters Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond will take to the wheel of the Team Top Gear BMW 330 Dti Sport (yes, a diesel!).

There entry is amongst the 61 so far recieved by Silverstone and the EERC for the 24 Hour race.

LoL should be a classic :D

Not sure if its a one off or part of the series.

But the Stig also seems to be driving..

Other rumours include that the car is going to be ran on bio diesel. The top gear crew said they where gonna make there own bio diesel last series. (They grew rapeseed which is converted to bio diesel )

What's the difference between a 330 dti and a 335d? It's the dti like the M version of a derv or something like that?

Should be a good watch - I can't wait!

3 Series Ti was the 3 Series Compact. I suspect this is not what they are entering.

Suspect it is a 330d Sport not a 330dti Sport.

That makes more sense :) I didn't know about the whole compact = Ti thing.

Doesn't sound like it went very well!

Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond was involved in another car accident at the weekend - less than a year after nearly losing his life in a 288mph crash.

The 37-year-old skidded off the track during a 24-hour Le Mans-style race at Silverstone on Saturday, the BBC said.

The host was not injured and continued the race once his vehicle - a BMW 330 DTi Sport - was repaired.

Be interesting to see how the Stig's lap times compare to the others.
