I though when they put a Celeb, Race Driver etc in there reasonably priced car the one they show at the end is parts of 1 Full Lap.
When they put Jenson Button in the car he started off with the Suzuki Liana which was a "52" Plate, and all the way through the lap when they changed camera angles the car kept changing from a "52" plate to an "03" plate just about every 2 times they changed the camera angles.

This is how bored i can get watching TV i notice things like that.

This happened when Nigel Mansell went around the track. It seems to be just down to the editing of the program rather than anything 'dodgy'.

Probably because they ate through a set of tyres/brake pads/clutch in one of the cars, and allowed him to drive the other car to do some more laps.

For time reasons, they probably keep two cars - if one spunks it's brakes/clutch, they can swap over without wasting time/money.

The lap shown is always spliced together from a combination of the practice laps and the flying lap.

The all important thing is that the time is from one hot lap now, not the best of 5 laps how it was last series.

Good spot on the number plate though :)

Or it could just be plucked out of a hat, it's impossible to believe anything they tell you on that programme these days.

My guess is that they probably Give him 5 laps to do and on the last one take the time down and thats the official time. But for the program they will edit together all of his laps to make it look good.

What a joke, cause the lap shown is billed as the lap he did to get his best time!

Just see it as the lap time read out has nothing to do with what they show on screen, as that's just to entertain you a little etc.

Doubt they only give 5 laps to the F1 drivers, as it's using the old car, so it'll be old rules.

But still, they analyse it as the driving he did to get his lap time.

Amateurish editing tbh.

They also probably don't have 20 or 30 cameras at their disposal, in order for them to capture every single part of the track.

Hence, they move the cameras around, and splice parts from different laps together.
