Top secret US spy drone captured by Iran

Yes i know the Russians regularly fly towards the UK to test UK radars and response times. I would suspect if they entered UK airspace or were flying over London they would be shot down?

Just read the first article or do a google search. Why would it be shot down. One way to escalate a common exercise for no reason.

On 10th March 2010, two RAF Tornado F3 fighter aircraft of 111(Fighter) Squadron were scrambled from RAF Leuchars (Fife) in the early hours of the morning to intercept two Russian TU-160 Blackjack aircraft, which were approx 100nm to the west of Stornaway on the North-West coast of Scotland.
The Tornadoes shadowed the Russian aircraft as they progressed south before the Blackjacks turned north, short of the Northern Irish coast, exiting UK airspace.

They do enter UK Airspace. They are not shot down because that would be ridiculous.

People claim the age of the fighter pilot is over due to advances in drones, but surely there will be advances in jamming capabilities. Does this mean the unmanned drone route may not wipe out fighter pilots as the government can't risk losing multiple million dollar drones to cyber warfare?

Smarter drones, why fly in circles when low on fuel and over enemy territory? Self destruct or fly home

also they can if theory out turn a plane with a fleshie in as you don't have to worry about the g's killing the pilot

Moron programmers no signal over enememy territory fly in circles and land for enemy to collect!!!!

Lol @ Fox

I can find only one instance where Russian Jets strayed in to UK airspace. Normally they just get close enough to see how long it takes the UK to scramble and intercept them.

Anyhow dont see what this has got to do with the report regarding US drones, deep inside Iranian airspace.

Flying all the way down northern island,Is just straying into uk airspace.
Just admit you are wrong. They come into uk airspace and that is what you said they don't do.

well normally they have lots of points where they circle wait for connection (apparently loosing contact is a regular thing with them), then return back towards a safe area for better signal if a certain time passes.

for some reason this failed to happen.

as it did with a drone over the US and as it did again in Afghanistan a few years back requiring the US air force to shot down one of it's reaper drones before it left Afghani airspace.

possible it was on operation near border it lost contact but crashed due to malfunction before the timer expired?

It happens, just because it wasnt in the media doesnt mean it didn't happen.
