That's like saying Jews are the root cause of the holocaust.

Jo Cox's murderer was a white supremacist, but that doesn't mean that it's the fault of immigration for letting it happen.

You do not get an outcome without inputs. If you have an ultra-nationalist like he was and poor immigration controls then there are two combining inputs there. Either one by itself results in no outcome. But combined they do.

He saw Jo Cox as representative of the immigration situation in the UK.

Don't worry the glitch of a white British terrorist loony will be gone soon and we can go back to the realistic/reality of non white, British only by passport, religious loons blowing up kids and stabbing all manner of folk for "reasons."

So, do you remove the inputs or correct the output?

You could have an ultra-nationalist in a country with very strict immigration controls and they could still kill people who campaign for something they don't like. Indeed this is not unusual - radicalised people will often target minorities whom they come across., purely for being a minority.

So, by your reasoning, we don't need to change our immigration policies, we just need to stop nutters like Mair responding to it in unreasonable ways?

Take away ultranationalism and the problem goes away. Simples.

You know like the way nazism was removed and Jews were able to live in peace. One input gone, the other left alone, no negative outcome.

Exactly. Hence why ultranationalism is the root cause to be tackled. Its not complicated.

I'll give you a really simple example. We had a lunatic shoot a load of children and teachers in a school.
We could get rid of schools. We could get rid of lunatics. Or...we could get rid of handguns.

What did we do?

How many school shootings have we had in 25 years?

Nazism was able to be suppressed over many decades of a propaganda war because it's leadership had been destroyed, there's too many perverse incentives for our authoritarian politicians to do anything remotely like that here.

So are you arguing that ultra-nationalism was the root cause of Jo Cox's murder or that immigration was?

This Nationalism is a response to immigration though isn't it.

There wouldn't be a BNP movement etc if we didn't have mass immigration.

The nationalism is just a result of finding an in-group that didn't alienate him, he could well have changed his views had he found something else to latch on to.

Maybe he felt strongly that the whole sale changes and crimes that he wpuld habe witnessed were not being addressed by the government and were infact being swept under the carpet so as not to cause sensitivity.

Obviously what he did was abhorrantly wrong. Stupid, ridiculous, and something no one or no family should have to bear the consequences of.

So hang on, if a bunch of people who don't like ice-cream get together, let's call them the Iscream movement, and one decides to go nuts and kill an ice-cream man, is that a response to ice-cream?
