I just ordered this Toshiba A100-147. Was wondering can anyone who has it tell me how does it do for web browsing, office apps, music and video playback e.g. hows the dvd playback? Oh and what's the build quality like?

Cheers!

I have one and find it excellent. Mind you, I've never owned a laptop before so I have nothing to compare it to apart from a few friends laptops I've briefly played with.

It plays DVDs well and runs Adobe Premiere with no problems. I ran one benchmark (Cinebench) to quickly compare it with my 2.8GHz Northwood work PC. The Toshiba completed it in 51sec and the work PC took 1min 11sec.

The build quality seems to me to be as good as the Sonys and HPs I've seen.

They are good,

The spec is nice, and the core2duo processor is great for a lappy :)

how much did you pay if you dont mind me asking? i got myne for £450 from work.. brand new boxed :O.

Paid £480 down from £500 using a discount for 'standard laptops over £300'. From looking around on forums it seems some people got it for £450 by using a combination of discount codes, unfortunately they had all expired by the time I bought and I couldn't find any current one's.

Also tis coreduo not core2duo, I couldn't find a core2duo laptop under £700. And even then they seem to only have 512 ram.

well i actually work for a major electrical retailer so my staff discount contributed to me getting it for £450, but it worked out a good price even for £500.
