Powerlight comes on. keyboard lights up bit nothing else happens: no screen etc. you can't even switch it off using the power button as the light just remains on. You have to remove the battery?

Sounds very much like a motherboard issue unfortunately. You can try some basic diags such as swapping the memory removing the cd and hd and possibily wifi card if its accessible.

Try to take out battery and press the power button to drain all the power on the motherboard then plug in from main without battery. If this is still doesn't work, more likely your motherboard is faulty
