Hi everyone, i'm a total n00b at this game, looking to build my own PC around september time to edit my first short film on.

I know the very basics and have plenty of tine to learn so i was wondering what sort of rig i would need?

I am obviously looking for a very large amount of space and Ram. What would you recommend?

I was thinking in the region of 1000 gig space, 2Mb ram, a top of the line video card and a top of the range, widescreen monitor?

Any recommendations?

Cheers

Cheers guys, Geffen that was the kind of think i was thinking.

philio16 - 2Mb RAM indeed sir, very tasty :D The duel monitor idea is a good idea, will i be able to afford 2 top minitors under my budget?

i just thought you would get more help in the hardware section, they do a lot of speccing up pc`s for people in there - including prices (OCUK stock only of course)

Generally I`d get 2gig ram minimum, a dual core cpu- preferably mid to high end, not sure about gfx cards, i`d also get a massive hard disk - 500gig would be good, but 250gig minimum , dual monitors would also be nice , either that or a nice 24" widescreen :)

Cheers mate, there is a thread in General now. Sounds about right to me, they are saying wait for conroe??????????????

can you explain please
