Hello All,

I am trying to understand my voltages better in BIOS but they dont ever seem to make sense to me. For example, I was told that my VID in core temp would be my stock CPU voltae at. That VID was 1.3. But when in the BIOS I choose +0.050 for example, in the BIOS (after saving settings and reloading into the BIOS) only shows the CPU running about 1.28V. I am really having a hard time understanding how much voltage I am actually giving my CPU.

I think the reason I am having a hard time is that every motherboard I have owened before actually stated the voltage you set, so I would for example set 1.3 volts and get that. But with this BIOS it seems to have + or - values, such as +0.025, +0.050 etc. It has these for everything including the RAM, NB and a few others. There is no "set default voltage" or set +-0.00, there is only + or - or auto.

I have read up and been told many times not to be using auto so I am trying to get away from it, but I have a fear that until I understand this BIOS I am going to do more damage then good.

Does that actually make sense?

I have looked around the net for "guides" or help on this but all I seem to come across is people asking what voltages to use, and not general questions about the voltages.

Help....? :D

Thanks
