Right then, the new season is upon us, who has what planned for this year then.

First one of the year for me yesterday at Oulton Park, dry, 10 °C, a great first day back out on the bike having not ridden since October. I ache a lot today though.

Next one planned for Oulton again, 19th April.

Cbr600rr3.

Get one booked, what's stopping you? Good time of the year as a lot of folk won't bother until May and I've had some really good quiet dry days at this time of the year.

Was out on track with Tommy Bridewell, Tim and Tom Neave, Tarran MacKenzie and some other bsb riders yesterday, all turned up at Oulton for off season practice. It's amazing to see just how much faster they are than us average Joe's.

:D

I really fancy a track day but as my only form of transport the thought of wrecking the bike and cooking a set of tyres puts me off.

You'll be fine, so will your tyres, i got 15 track days out of one set of m7rr's.

I have a track day voucher that I'll be using this year at some point. My first track day :p Likely to be either Oulton park or Donington, although depends where work takes me in the near future :)

Oulton, do it, best track in the UK. I'll join you if I'm free.

Cadwell is a great track, but the run up clay hill and through druids, lodge, old hall, cascades, island is just fantastic.

Sadly I've got to wait until next month to do it again :D

Another couple of dates booked, Anglesey this time, saturday 13th and sunday 14th May.

Perfect track for 1st timers, wide, open corners, plenty of visibility, lots of run off, several constant radius 180° corners perfect for knee down action. Camping on site for free with a cafe and a bar, what more could you ask for :D

Was supposed to be racing this year but managed have a fall and put myself in hospital the day before a track day at anglesey to give the bike I'd built over winter a good shake down. Hopefully can get back on track in summer once I've fully recovered and meet you guys.

Completely agree with Foghorn - Anglesey is one of my favourites followed by Donington, then Oulton.

Oops, hope you're not too beat up, how's the bike :D

Which club do you race with?

Unfortunately I was quite beat up, won't go into details but it was 3 weeks in hospital with complications following surgery. I was lucky to get out in 3 weeks, fortunately the doctors said my young age and fitness helped my recovery, they've never seen anyone wake up and stabilise as quick as I had.

Was supposed to be in Golden Era SBK with Wirral 100. Damaged the swingarm, rear subframe, clock mount, foot peg.

Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

A friend of mine is racing in the same class this year, he was in powerbikes last year but changed to an early model r1 over winter, I'm running in f600. We got very lucky with the weather for the first round :)

It's our second season with Wirral this year for both of us, wished I'd started years ago.

Oops, forgot to post! Last week I booked on to Oulton Park June 3rd for my first track day :) Novice only; which is fine for me, being a noob, but literally the only one I could get to in the next 3 months or so :(

Nice one. Post up in the thread a couple of days before the day and if I'm free I'll pop over and say hello.

I don't usually do weekend dates because you need to book so far in advance. I just book a day off work and book a midweek day.

Thank you. It's a small world, we probably live quite close too (I'm just within Cheshire, couple of miles from the Staffs border). My friend is in Golden Era 600's but he crashed in qualifying and the bike wasn't fit to race in the first round. He's missing Oulton as he's not been there before but will be back for the third round.

My recovery and fixing the bike means I'll probably miss all the ACU assessment days so I'm out for the year now. I had booked onto the ACU assessment at Darley in mid March but was still in hospital.

Still it's not all bad.... heading over to SportsbikeShop on Sunday for some new leathers, chest protector and a lid.... taking all precautions now as I wouldn't want another head injury or other significant injury again.

I'm mid Cheshire, Northwich.

He's missing out not going to Oulton, it's a fantastic circuit. My first ever race was Oulton last year, i'd done two track days there prior to the race. Not as bad as Snetterton though, I'd never ridden there, had a ten minute practice session (౩ laps) then straight out as part of a three man team for the no limits 8hr endurance :D

There'll be plenty of ACU courses through the year, keep an eye out on the no limits site.

Anglesey this weekend, all loaded up and ready to go straight after work tomorrow.

Come and say hello if you're in the paddock, white and yellow cbr, I'm in red/white crowtree leathers.

I am thinking of booking one sometime in September, got far too much on before sadly, plus I don't want to tempt fate before my brothers wedding....
Why are so many tracks so stupidly quiet now?? :( I remember the days when it said DB limits but they never actually checked....
We reap what we sow unfortunately.

Too many people with ridiculously loud shorty pipes have caused the councils to clamp down on noise levels and it's only going to get tighter.

There's absolutely no need for an ear splitting din, my race bike has a full arrow race system, with no baffle fitted it reads 99/100dB at Oulton, decent length can with acoustafil matting inside. My road bike has the standard can, I don't like to announce my presence when I'm up to no good ;)

We most certainly did not get sunshine for Oulton this week :D threw it down for the first morning so plenty of wet practise, 3 dry sessions in the afternoon, it then started raining at 2am the next morning and didn't let up all day (was still raining the next day) standing water everywhere, huge rooster tails off the back of the bikes, soaked to the skin and boots full of water, loved it, getting much more confidence with wets.

Next day booked for Anglesey 28th July.
