Yep I did it :p
Had Xbox 360 since launch day and I'm now on my 3rd replacement  My warranty ran out 2 months ago, So I decided to get rid of it before it loses to much value or dies(More likely) :(

Anyway...The trade in value was 340 pounds for...
Console
Hardrive
3 Control pads
8 Games
Wireless Adapter
32MB memory card

I'm just glad its gone now before it dies again :D

hmmmmm really unsure about the PS3 there is so many mixed opinions floating around its hard to form a proper opinion on it tbh personally I don't really like sony's track record but I'll wait until I can play one for myself, but that might be a while as I cant justify £425 for it lol gonna wait for a price drop but I'm really looking forward to ZOE3 and MGS4 :)

Preordered Resistance and MotorStom :D
My mate be trying to talk me into queing up outside a shop all night lol...I've tryed to explain there will be enough to cover all preorders :)

surely you could have got around £100+ more if you sold it privately?

Not sure about that. I had mine up on eBay with 2 months warranty remaining and people were very wary about buying it. In the end I got an outside offer of £365 for the premium console, extra controller, HD-DVD drive, 11 games. Changed my mind in the end though and decided to stick with the 360. More games on the 360 that I am looking forward to.

Thats why I didn't bother tbh, I saw what similar package sizes were going for and thought I might aswell trade it in(Less hassle)

I pre-ordered today. Have yet to decide whether I'm going to trade in my 360 & it's games.

i wouldn't myself, I know it's some nice monies in your pocket. Which if thats what you are doing it for then go for it!!

But some really good games are due out for both the 360 and PS3, So if you don't want to be limited to just 1 console selection in the future, I'd keep both.

Hence why I paid £30 extra for a 3 yr warranty for my 360.

Good move :)

Can't wait to play some BD movies, I have always been one of those people that cringes at the poor quality of DVD films, but at least they were better than on video cassette...

The price for a PS3 is massive if you think of a games console, but with the Cell processor and a Blu-Ray drive built in... it's so worth the money. The PS3 Blu-ray player is so much better than any standalone player costing £1000, go have a look at the BR website.

A 360 with HD-DVD playback ends up at the same price as a PS3 when HD-DVD (in my opinion) is an inferior format. Image 1 year down the line when we will all have the next gen optical drive in our PC. Would you rather be able to burn 30GB of data or 50GB? It's as simple as that, and in this day and age where these numbers matter to the sea of e-peni out there, size deffiniately does matter.

I am fine wil my DVD collection and I dont want to pay double the price to replace it as well.

How silly of people to assume its primary function is a games console eh...

Notice how most folk on here are talking about the games, eg "I will get one when more games come out"

I'm still sticking with the 'Its the games which will decide the winner of the console war, not the tech specs' argument and at the minute, that is the 360.

Also you mention its worth its value partly because of the cell, I still don't understand why this is such a big deal?

I am going to wait for it to drop in price or for a good package, you can pick up 360s prem packs with 3 games and and a extra pad for the price the 360 was at launch, so i expect a PS3 for £350 with a couple of games next year.
