You have to be careful how you do that as it can be a pain to lose the UK tax residency even if you live in another country.

I know, i'm reading all about it. I know it's 5 years out of the UK....but the way I look at it I could spend 5 years traveling, come back, sell my stuff as a tax resident of another country and still be in a better position that paying another 25% on the tax.

You can still be in the UK up to 180 days a year or so.

Not to mention typically you need to be out of the country half the year :p

The S&S ISA scheme is more than generous imo, I wouldn't have a problem with a CGT raise, particularly with all the capital gains being made off the back of loose monetary policy that is failing to help the people that most need it, and enriching those of us that don't need assistance.

I know but some of us are a bit older. We may have planned our future/retirement on a CGT level of 20%. A rise to 45% means (many) more years working and the plans are soured. Worked since I was 16, often had three jobs at a time. Paid tax my whole life, happy to pay a bit more tax on my investments.....but 45% would make me think seriously about moving on.

Trading212 didn't work out as they don't accept transfers due to regulatory reasons.

Does anyone know a broker who deals with pink sheet stocks, accepts transfers from another broker (HL) and also has Solarwindow listed?

Cheers
