hehe, see what I did with that title? ;)

Anyway, here's today's shots from Woburn Sands and Chicksands.

No pp work, (apart from the first), just resized and uploaded.

Enjoy...

This shot was inspired by some professionals "reminder" shots of their studio setups for different shoots...this was my slightly more dirty studio.

Awesome pictures, have to say the first one is simply phenomenal, is it possible I could grab it for my desktop? :p 1280X1024 pretty please? :p

hehe, erm yeah okay - not tonight though because I stupidly only edited the smaller version of that shot to upload - i'll work on the big one tomorrow.

THe guy looks so high up in the 2nd picture. Its a great shot as you have no idea how high up he really is but it looks high :) Is that a light on a tripod in the first?

Yeah, the light is set-up on a tripod, it's triggered with my wireless flash kit.

In the second photo, the take-off jump is about 6ft high, then the landing is about 6ft but with another 3ft deep bowl, so you're looking at about 9ft + air, which was about another 5ft - so lets call it 15ft in the air from the base of the landing :)

If you look at the first, it's the same jump he's doing as in the second, but he was only "learning" how to do them in the first, he had them pretty nailed in the second photo.

nice shots, that wireless set up looks like it could be very handy. How do you attach it to the tripod?

Basically, the reciever is in the form of a hotshoe adapter with a sync chord plugged in to it - you just screw the hotshoe adapter onto the baseplate of your tripod like you would your camera. I've then taped the reciever battery pack onto the top of the flash so it's not in the way.

It's pretty cheap and cheerful, but it does the job until I can get myself a set of pocketwizards.

I could do I suppose - but it wasn't my intention for it to be out of the shot, otherwise I would have taken it from a different angle or hidden the flash.

Is the kit in that picture the stuff you're actually using? If so who who's the manufacturer please?

fantastic 1st shot....now my wallpaper thx :)

like them all. Why don't you clone out the tripod and source light? I think it would look better.

No, that's not the kit i'm using - but it's extremely similar.
It's some dodgey chinese manufacturer - no idea what they're called, the whole wireless setup cost me £40 from fleabay. Have a scout round, but make sure you find one that has the hotshoe adapter, because some only come with the Sync Chords, and the 420ex flash that I use doesn't take them.

ah ok.

Is the flash you use a particularly powerful one?

It's a Canon Speedlite 420ex.
I never really mess with F.E.C, so it just fires at it's normal brightness.
