Meh, we are living with train lines that old and I mean old and outdated but thats what happen when you pioneer something, the Spanish are still considered a poor country in Europe, they have land to play with and money from EU, its almost impossible for us to build lines like that without having to raze areas, we simply don't have the land to do it. The main line from London to Glasgow goes through Wigan and with the M6 and villages and the existing lines, you just cant build these super tracks for the super trains.

Boris Johnson talks about it here. He makes the arguement that infrastructure is the easist thing to cut, despite it being the one that's worst for us in the long run.

I just find your postings a little sad. If you don't like the way the UK is going then either (1) do something -anything - about it, (2) stop moaning and accept it, or (3) move to a different country.

What improvement is brought to your life by posting several times a day on a computer-orientated website about how bad the UK is? Why bother? Wouldn't your time be better spent looking at ways to improve things?

Anyway, back to topic :)

Basically the single stupidist thing ever said ever! If Ireland votes no again Europe can not hope to compete as an economic or political region/grouping/block etc. as it allows for the main branches of the EU to work properly.

Any EU bashing is stupid as without it we WOULD be so screwed economically that it wouldnt matter if we had the money back from what we give to the EU in the first place, as your currency would be unbelievably worthless (talking leria style) and no one would trade with us due to massive tarrifs.
