Just a quick one. Can anyone confirm that there are no trains runninng at all on boxing day? I would check online but i can't seem to get to the website from work for some reason.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure boxing day is normally no service. I can't find anything on thetrainline, but GNER say no service, and give this for further information: National Rail Enquiries on 08457 48 49 50.

I know a girl going from newcastle to mancchester on boxing day by bus because there are no trains.

Can't comfirm if its just that route or the network. I should imagine the latter

Thanks for that. Seems like no trains, tubes look ok though, i'll get her to go to cockfosters and pick her up from there :)

GNER site

'Due to an error with our timetable feed supplied by Network Rail we are unable to take bookings for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. We hope to have a fix available shortly. Please try an alternative date.'

Slightly on topic, but is there any news of the usual strikes that happen on New Years Eve in London.

Planning to go up there NYE but dont really want to get stuck up there.
