Well I'm pretty pleased with the business that Boro have done in the last 24 hours, squad is definitely much stronger. Blackman from Chelsea is an interesting one, I would have preferred Dimitrios to have replaced Mejias in goal to be honest but I cant see Chelsea releasing Blackman for the year without at least some assurance he was going to see regular play time. I fear we will lose Dimitrios at some point and that would be a real shame as he has the potential to be very good. Mejias on the other hand I would just get rid of.

Was good to see the back of Hines as well to Coventry and Vossen and Wildschut look like they could be formidable for this league, Vossen especially if he can get somethign going with Kike.

Happy though :)

Cleverley going to Villa on loan. Thank ****.

Also surprised to see Falcao speaks decent English.

Woooo hoooo - Today just keeps on giving!!

Good transfer window. Very good. If we can get Strootman in January we will be looking sweet.

In the last week Ive heard he wont be fit until Christmas (and that information was by no means cast iron either) but even if he was fit tomorrow, I wouldnt be betting £40-50m on him and by the sounds of things thats what Roma are going to be after unless he forces his way out, which from whats been said isnt going to be likely.

I thought you needed goals. you have creative talent in abundance.

Alexis, Ozil, Cazorla, Ramsey, Walcott, Campbell, Ox, Rosicky, Podolski.

You needed a player who's going to dominate that box, be a presence, get on the end of things, take the ball, turn and smash it in the top corner. Welbeck is not that man, and no better than the level of Walcott.

Poor buy IMO, but what is Arsenal's loss, is United's gain :)

He needs to score more than he has done at Man Utd, but he doesn't need to be prolific. All those players you mentioned should be capable of double figures, except Rosicky as he normally gets used for his experience in tight games now.

If Welbeck scores 15 this season, he will have been a successful buy IMO.

So if Cleverley and Powell are both going what are our options in the middle? Herrera, Carrick, Blind....Anderson? Oh god we still have Fellaini don't we...

Herrera, Fletcher, Carrick, Blind, Rojo at a push, Di Maria, Rooney at a push. We have enough cover to be going with and I expect us to go for Strootman in January. We only need 2 CM out of that lot and first choice currently would be Blind / Herrera.

433 with a wide front 3 and say, herrera, carrick and someone else decent at cm in the midfield trio.

can collapse into a 451 without the ball.

We've just bought Ajax's DM and who is supposedly great in there... Herrera is Carrick's replacement. Carrick is unbelievably average. Yet you want him in the starting 11. We've just bought a new engine, and you want to put the half of the old, defunct soulless heap of metal, back in...

Our two centre midfielders are Herrera and Blind. Mata is the AM. So what, you want to put Herrera in the number 10, where he's not as useful and bring back what has been useless for years?

You're crackers.

Just seen the Leeds United twitter feed from last night...those fans aren't happy!

can't link due to swearing, but they basically tweeted saying it was going to be a busy night, and don't go to bed yet, everyone got excited and stayed up to watch, or went to Elland Road, then they started announcing players leaving and nobody came in!

I assume he would have Herrera on the other side of Blind to Di Maria. I am intrigued about how LvG will set us up because we will have a ridiculous bench if he sticks with 3 - 5 - 2

Well as a mild football supporter I suppose I have to support Sunderland by default since I go to University here. Not quite sure about Sebastian Coates but he's young enough to show some promise still and Ricardo Alvarez actually looks like a good acquisition so not sure what the catch is? He appears to have played plenty of games so knees aren't made of glass?

Of course still in dire need of a good striker but glad didn't get Borini, he clearly has no desire to play for the club and don't see a point of signing a player who's just playing for money. Yeah of course you could argue they all play for money, mercenaries, etc but still be nice someone who doesn't think they're too good to play for the club and just want a paycheck above their pay grade.

I'm not sure how I feel about Welbeck tbh. He is pretty strong, has some pace, has boundless energy - All of which are things Arsenal are lacking in some way. And I really don't think it matters at Arsenal if he doesn't score a bunch, I'd imagine he is there for link up play, and to chip in with goals if/when. Not overly excited by it, but I can see how he may do well. It's a risk I wouldn't have taken personally, but then I'm not a football manager :p

I think it's a risk worth taking, he is still only 23, just hope wenger gives him a chance up front and not play him on the left.
