I'm getting married in just over 3 weeks & we're lucky enough to be going to the Maldives for our honeymoon. I need to get some travel insurance, but my partner is on medication for hypertension (high blood pressure).

Normal policies don't cover medical conditions & i was hoping that somebody could recommend a decent website that deals in travel insurance for medical conditions.

Thanks in advance
Scott

I'll take a look, but that suprises me as when i searched for holiday insurance on moneysupermarket (non medical), prices started at £18 & the PO was last with 90 odd quid!

isn't it just a case of not covering you being treated for an existing condition? if your partner falls ill as a result of hypertension then i doubt you could get cover (as in have to pay for treatment and not claim back the expense on insurance), if however something else happens that is not related and you need treatment then you should be covered.

im not aware of anywhere that offers such a service tbh, let me know if you find one though!

I've looked at a few sites & to get cover for any medical conditions you have to phone a screening telephone line to talk through your condition etc.

My GF just informed me that she had to do this when we went to France last year.

The last thing i want to happen (unlikely that it is), is for my GF to fall ill due to her condition, not be covered & get a huge bill.

I'll ring a few places tomorrow, i guess i was being lazy & hoping somebody could reel off alist of companies :D

Policies underwritten by AXA (for one) will allow you to pay an excess to cover pre-existing medical conditions. Of course this amount varies depending on the condition.

My Father just returned from his holiday and had to pay a wee bit more for his diabetes and high BP. I'll find out who he went with later.

yea just ring up and tell them about the exisisting condition and they will give you a quote. I've just come back from Egypt and got my insurance from Direct Line and I have high blood pressure and a thyroid problem, got a quote no problem.
