ive got some tickets to a radio 1 gig on monday night in camden and am trying to work out the cheapest and easiest way of getting there and 2 options are available...

1. go by car and park near the venue, however it will be around 5pm when i hit london central. cost = £20 fuel + parking + congestion(? is it in the congestion zone?)

2. drive to luton airport and get train into london.... however using national rail it works out to £15 each + underground pass to get to easton/mornington crescent.

i was under the impression a return train to luton was only a few quid but it appears more expensive now. am i wrong?

help!

If you get the train to Luton, you can go on the Thameslink to Kentish Town and Mornington Crescent is just a short tube (2 stops on the Northern line) or about a 30 minute walk (Camden is in the middle between Kentish Town and Mornington Crescent).

You could park on Agar Grove (at the York Way end it's no permit after 6pm, outside congestion zone) and walk down, mind you would be quite busy I imagine on the way in, way out would be fine though.

I'd probably go for the train option though as daz suggests, the Thameslink trains run pretty late too so I doubt you'd be pushed for time :)

Is it Koko you're going to? Not a bad venue, always seems to be loads of totty in there too :)

What about getting a train the whole way? A return to London from Leicester is less than £20 if you have a railcard. (If you dont, you can buy one :P)

Even better, get a return to somewhere like Hertford (about £23?) that involves a change in London - that way you get a tube pass with your ticket :)

If you'd asked a week or so ago it would have been less, but tickets are more expensive closer to the time.

didnt know id won til this morning when the tickets dropped through the post lol so now ive got to work out how to get to somewhere ive never been in rush hour. :o
