Tron 2 in 2010?

Im in two minds about this, on one hand it's one of my fave movies and cant wait to see this but on the other i keep thinking a sequel will just be crap and not capture the magic of the first.

I agree, but lets hope that this could be a decent movie. The tech is there to do the right job so I suppose its down to the writers/producers etc.

This, just this. Nothing more, nothing less.

Love this first movie, but I don't want to get excited about a new Tron film... it'll probably blow.

edit:

Those notes on that site, is that hinting at an entirely 3D movie? Not too sure about that...

daft punk just been confirmed for doing the musical score to this. if its half as good as what bangalter did for irreversible then wahoo

theres plot details out on the interwebs too.

I've actually never seen Tron. :/

This may help.

Any idea who's directing this?

I read a while back Joseph Kosinski - the chap that does the Gears of War adverts was heading for the directors seat. Although his trailers are fantastic - should he really be given such a movie?

edit:
He is indeed the director:

Worrying or exciting? Bearing in mind he's never made anything other than a trailer.

disney has took promo to a new level. they made a secret site with a countdown and then instructions to go to a secret location. when people got there they opened up a real life ''flynns arcade'' and let everyone in and locked the doors.

more info about it is out on the internet and surelywill be more to come. but for now have this video that includes one of the tracks daft punk has done for the film. theyve supposedly done 24 tracks for it so far ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrew4XtbjrU
