Hello all,

I've just set up a new MSI B450 Tomahawk Max with an old Ryzen 1700X, 2x 4Gb Fury HyperX DDR4 RAM, Sapphire 290X. The CPU and GPU are watercooled.

First power up and the EZ Debug LEDs showed a VGA error. Multiple retries and no change. I tried flashing the BIOS with the latest version and the CPU error light showed. Again, multiple reboots, but no change. Finally, I cleared the CMOS using the jumper and now it's still stuck on the CPU error. I thought this might have reverted back to the VGA error but it hasn't.

I've tried connected to the monitor with Display Port and HDMI, neither have affected it. The GPU also has 2x DVI connectors, but I haven't got a cable for that at the moment.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Jed

Have you tried re-seating the GPU and CPU? To see if that makes a difference? Not sure if it's a faff with your watercooling but it might cause something different to happen?
