I agree, it doesn't matter what the original is. I only mentioned lossy formats as in my opinion if you are wrong then that is the most likely source of confusion, however you didn't mention any formats.
Is your proof available for anyone to see, i.e. can I find it online? I think if zip doesn't have 100% fidelity, it's more people than me who are up the creek and paddleless!
