got to be kidding me! got my sapphire 7850 today and now this comes along?!?!?! i could have had a 7950 for very little more. argh

If viable, you could bag the 7950 now, and then return the 7850 under DSR. Have a word in the customer services section of the forum, and see what they have to say. :)

I'm really tempted by the 7950.
Only problem is my mobos other PCIe slot is only at x4
I'm considering getting one of these now though while on offer and upgrading mobo later.

I take it I'd notice a significant hit crossfiring one card at x16 and the other at x4 but would I notice any improvement at all? Would it be worth plugging both in even?

Also am I right in thinking Crossfire can be any 2 cards of the same series?
So I could get a 7970 to go with my current 7950?

Or is that just asking for trouble?

Pre-order, stock is due in on Monday? Unless you were planning on Saturday delivery the latest you're going to get the card would be wednesday.

Well its a nice thought, but in retrospect I think I'll hang onto me 7950, I've got other things to consider getting like replacing me case, cpu cooler, and an SSD.

Would've been nice though:D

gibbo could you honestly tell me if you think the prices of the 7970 lightning may go down over time, i wouldn't mind having one and putting it under water, it's just that the blocks aren't out yet..so i'd have to wait.

Or would it be wise to buy one now..
