3GB is a little low for 1440P though. Having said this at 1440P you don;t really need high AA. 2xAA is fine. Argh! Can you tell I'm trying to justify the expense?
I've always had a soft spot for the Nvidia coolers - have been contemplating selling the 770 & upgrading to a 970 for some time now but that Ti is really tempting me.

SLI - memory across both cards. How does it work? I presume 2x3GB cards don't pool to 6GB under the current DirectX/driver architectures from what I've read, so how does the graphics subsystem use each card's memory?
Each card uses its own memory and they share rendering tasks.
In effect the subsequent cards after the first one only add GPU processing power, not additional memory space for textures etc.
I can only assume, that just maybe, the GTX 980 Ti is on the horizon...
