USA trying to cripple HuaWei because it might negatively effect their precious phone companies such as Apple. Total ******** just to try and oust a competitor and add to this dumb trade war.

Partly due to them wanting to have bulwarks against China and the Soviets in Asia during the cold war AFAIK,and also sources of cheap production locations for their companies to make stuff. But they branched out on their own,and by then it was too late for local companies to react. The US car industry was totally unprepared IIRC for the onslaught of the Japanese auto makers, with their more efficient vehicles, often which had better quality control:
    https://www.theglobeandmail.com/glo...how-the-car-industry-was-won/article27100187/

This is despite tariffs which were applied to the Japanese cars.In Europe there were restrictions on the amount of cars Japan could export. They still got past that by setting up factories in the UK,and Honda worked worked with Rover as part of a JV.

Then look how the Japanese electronic industry grew. South Korea basically replicated what Japan did decades later.

If people on the radical left think China is better than the US (and presumably Brexit Britain) then why not go and live there? just don't practise any kind of worship unless its towards the government, religious freedom isn't a thing under totalitarian socialist governments.

Disturbing undercover video shot by a survivor's husband reveals the brutal treatment of Falun Gong followers inside a Chinese labor camp where many have died from alleged torture

It doesn't look that far off Auswitz and the treatment of the Jews. All of the hysteria about Trump's travel ban to a few Muslim countries previously earmarked by Obama, at least he isn't throwing US citizens into torturous work camps where they'll probably die.

Most of those on the left who have convinced themselves within their bubbles that Trump is some kind of racially/religiously intolerant, evil dictator working for the Russians and that China is a victim of his policies. You only have to see media coverage it's portayed as China just wanting to live in peace and harmony but bad Trump is waging economic war on them. The biggest victims in China are its people.

Just go and read the Speakers Corner Trump thread to see who I mean basically. The last time I was allowed to post there those same people were frothing about him colluding with Russia, how did that work out? I said about two years ago that the Russia hoax was a cover for corruption within the Democrats/FBI etc and political spying and what do you know their Attorney General is now investigating that very thing but the mainstream media who banged on about Russia collusion for 2-3 years aren't interested. Complicit much?

Increasing protectionism such as tariffs and banning trading with foreign companies are classic policies you would see in a communist regime.

If they had to make them in the USA and still retain the same level of profit per unit the price might have to double. And that would effect the number sold, dramaticly lowering their profit.

    Allegedly.
Not that two wrongs make a right but arguably the same could have been/be said about the States/NSA doing surveillance by backdoor'ing Cisco equipment, although that didn't result in countries putting Cisco and Co on the 'ban' lists.

I am surprised it has taken this long to take action against Huawei, if they are in bed with the Chinese government, considering their equipment has been used in various networks for the last decade or so

I'm sorry you don't understand the difference between communism and totalitarianism, nor the fact that left to right is a sliding scale.

There is a reason why the Chinese Government is a bit wary of weird religious cults.

Check out the story of the Taiping Rebellion Quite possibly the bloodiest conflict in all of history!

Great, no context with reference to what I was discussing though.
