Hi all,
bit of a very late update but I thought I would let you know what life is like with the Packard Bell Butterfly Touch after a couple years of use.
in a word...
Pointless.
The laptops size and overall power / battery life is very good, i can easily get 8 hours out of it doing general work, web browsing, videos all on the wireless.
it's one failing pretty much makes the portability aspect utterly pointless.
it's gloss screen.
When in tablet mode the gloss screen makes viewing anything near impossible unless you are in a pitch black room with no other light sources. The viewing angle of the screen also voids screen rotation making it very difficult to read anything without getting a headache.
The touch aspect of the screen is fairly good, I had quite a bit of fun playing crayon physics on it in tablet mode, until of course any other light source was close by.
Unfortunately, because of the viewing angle and gloss screen I can't recommend this laptop to anyone who would actually want to use it in the day time. Other than that, it can run HD videos very well, I have had VirtualBox running on it with 32bit guest OSs running without too much of an issue.
if this laptop didn't have it's touch screen, gloss screen and tablet mode rotation I would have been much more satisfied with it. Which does indeed make it's key features pointless.
