AI and my brother have both failed me.

I have memories of watching a space scifi film with big battles, as a kid, but the only part I remember is that.

1. The ships were big and slow. Almost like submarine in design. But manouvered and turned like a destroyer would.

2. They fired torpedos out of tubes like they were underwater. And would square off, all most broadside

3. It was humans vs what I think were a feline like enemy. They had sharp claws I remember.

4. Wasn't animated.

5. I think they defeated the enemy by getting it too close to a black hole or similar which they can't escape from.

6. Probably 80s, 90s.

It is doing my nut in. Haha.

Any ideas? Not sure if it was a b-movie.

Thank you! Yes Kilrathi. I had Kraven in my head. I knew you'd ace it. My bro said "space above and beyond" which it wasn't, but, I had forgotten about that too. I loved that as well. :)

It always feels ironic that the Wing Commander games franchise had bigger actors that the Wing Commander film franchise.
Tbh the later games probably had a bigger budget for video than the film :p

I would love a remake of the games, especially privateer

You needed to look that up?
Man, I had it the instant he said feline enemy.... am I old, or are you just not that into gaming?
to be fair it's 30 years ago...and the last wing commander game was nearly as long ago, i can't remember how old Lopez is but I think he was probably too young to have played the games :)
I had to think for a moment as "feline enemy in space" always brings the Kzinti to mind first, but that's because I was reading Ringworld etc before I played Wing Commander.
