TUF Z270 MARK 1 or TUF X299 MARK 1 for my upgrade gaming PC

Hi all im matt

I currently have a Asus sabertooth z77 motherboard but wish to upgrade within next few months to a new motherboard for my new gaming pc.
Now i wish to stay with an Asus motherboard as iv never had a problem and iv seen these two on the website and would like some advice on which people would mostly recommend for me

TUF Z270 Mark 1 or TUF x299 mark 1?

im hoping to not have to upgrade everything in my current PC, but i think i will have too

my current has:

asus sabertooth z77
intel i5 3570k ( i know il have to update this as its a new chip)
asus r9 290x GPU ( im looking at getting a MSI 1080)
2 x 1TB WD black edition HDDS
1 x samsung SSD

hope somebody can advice me cheers

Well both are pretty different.

You may as wait till the Z370 come out next month and the new coffeelake cpus as there will be a 6 core variant. If you want further future upgradability I would say go for the X299 as you can install a lower end chip like the i5-7640X or the i7-7740X (With restrictions on memory unfortunately) and then stick a 6-8-10-14-14-18 core cpu in the system at a later date where you will get them for cheaper.

Or you could Ryzen system with 8 Core 16 thread for the same sort of money.
