I’m well on the way to drawing up some plans for my new system and i wanted to know weather people preferred the Tuniq Tower OR Scythe Ninja.

It's hopefully going to be going on a Asus striker board with a Conroe x6800 processor.

WHATS YOU’RE FLAVOUR??

I have bucked the trend and gone for a Thermaltake Big Tornado as its meant to be quiet :p
But looking at the others, I would have gone for the Tuniq if the TBT wasn't available.

I have the Ninja and it's great, couldn't get a Tuniq at the time, though I prefer the flexibility of the Ninja.

Ninja= mroe heatpipes
Tuniq= more fin surface

I go for ninja, tuniq= limited by ammount of heatpipes, mount a delta to a ninja and u have unbeatable air performance... , cant say that for the tuniq, at a certain point 6 heatpipes wont be able to carry more heat/cold... ( yes i know its liquid inside, but u know what i mean...)

I wonder why people quote idle temps, it simply does not matter. My Stock cooler could keep it at 30 C idle :confused:

Was wonering the same. My stock intel cooler kept my 6600 at 30ºC last night.

It's all about load temps unless you have 60ºC at idle which indicates a problem other than a cooler, unless your not using a fan.

its like, woooahh dude, when my computer isnt doing anything, its only at 30C lol.

Just because its lower hehe, and also, idle temperature assuming good coolilng/airflow is effectively determined by room temperature as it will basically be about 8C in Core temp, higher than your system temperature which in turn is likely to be no more than 10C higher than the room temperature, so if the room gets cooler, so will the cpu at idle.

stick a load on it for a few minutes, and it will actually test your cooling system hehe

There is only a few degrees diference between them, i use the ninja tbh.

Everyones temps will also be different, because you all have difference clocks, voltages, Room temps etc..

Btw Cyber-Mav i think you win the world record for the most Roll eyes ever used on a Uk forum :p

Every other post i see belonging to you contains the rolly eyes LOL

Just an update to this ... I have the Thermaltake Big Tornado, and although its as quiet as you could want, I am not that impressed with its cooling.
Initially I thought my board was misreading the temps, but even if it is, things are getting too toasty.

I have decided to plump for the Tuniq Tower, and have ordered some additional quiet but high flow fans in case Its too noisy ;)

Also it would appear airflow in my case is not as good as I thought it may be, the Tuniq blowing the hot air from the cpu right to the case exhaust fan should help and the optional fan side panel has been ordered to push more cool air in.

Fingers crossed that combination should drastically reduce temps without being too noisy.

From tuniq tower owner... Ninja :)

Lol why :confused:

Tuniq tower is the only choice. With my E6300 is at 3.6ghz, it sits at 40 idle, and just over 60 load on orthos. During gaming it doesn't go over 60. This is all with the fan running SILENTLY at ~7V on my sunbeam rheobus. Im using cool lab liquid paste too.

Who needs H20 :p

I think he means the Big Typhoon ;)

proud user of thermaltake blue orb II, with faster RPM fan fitted, 37*C load 25*C idle, or at least thats what temperature sensor says :p

NINJA here :D, keeps my C2D at 30 degs idle

My Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 had my 3800+ X2 at 15 degrees C idle last night! :D

My kitchen was at 12-13 degrees itself though - wish i had gas central heating rather than oil that runs out!!! :p

Got a Scythe now so will see how cold i can go! ;)

gt

rofl yeah think i have a screenshot of my cpu ideling under 10 or something daft on first power on after driveing to york (200miles) in the middle of winter with my comp in the boot of my car!
