Turning off GMail Threading

I like threading, but it would be nice if turning it on or off could be made more granular ... i have specific labels I would like to turn it off for but keep it on in general

For the most part it does a good job. I just hate it when it groups emails from months apart that happen to share the same subject. So easy to lose an email like that.

Would be nice if you can set a time limit on when to group a message. If it is a direct reply then fine, leave it in the convo. If it is a new message with the same subject, but it is say 1 week later, they should make it a new convo!
