Woke up this afternoon (night shift) to the missus and girl moaning that thr tv wont turn on its an LG Pk350 and ive had it for a long time Now thru 3 house moves i think!

Anyone got any recomendations for a 50" (maybe more) 1080p tv dont need 3d/4k and can love without smart features altho being able to have native plex support would be a bonus i suppose.

Also wheres the best place to buy a tv now days, think my lg came from currys originally

If the Samsung UE48H6400 is still around, it's quite a bargain. Last year's model so the interface, apps etc aren't quite as slick as the newer models but it's an excellent 1080p TV as opposed to the lower-end 4K you'd get for the same budget. Good app support too, has Plex etc and they still get updated.

I picked up the 40" model for my parents in the Xmas sales. It's a great TV set they've been really happy with it.

Fingers crossed. Just noticed you mentioned wanting Plex Support. I can highly recommend RasPlex installed on a Raspberry Pi3. I've just ditched the Plex app on my Samsung TV in favour of this, much better.

Damm wish I had seen this thread sooner, you could probably have fixed the problem for 80p-£5.80 yourself (the extra fiver if you don't have a soldering iron).

I've got a 50PK540 and it failed a couple of years back and all it took to fix was to swap out an 80p component from Maplin.

Seems to be a common problem with the 50PK540 and Pk35, components failing on the PSU board.

Have a quick look on youtube for 'LG Pk350 fix', quite a few videos showing you what to do.

I did think about doing it myself but decided against it, just so the rest of the board can be checked out

Picked it up from the post office this afternoon so gonna stick it back in tomorrow and see how it goes. Hopefully fixes it as the motion blur on this lcd tv ive been lent is a disgrace!
