Since im very new to 4k and ultra hd do people have different pic settings for various duties inc.

Night time films 1080p
Daytime tv 1080p
4k fims daytime
4k films night time
4k films ultra hd day
4k films ultra hd night.

if at all possible in your tvs or do you use a general pic.

Reason im asking is i have only for example for my tv seen one set of recommended settings none for say night time and one for day time, as im sure you would need diff settings ect for example brightness ect at night time to try and get blacks as dark as possible or have i got it completely wrong(which is entirely possible).

Thanks for the advice

My TV has ISF1 and ISF2, a lot of people use 1 with a lower brightness for night time viewing and a 1 with higher for daytime. I currently use the same for both, but in a a couple of weeks I'm having a professional calibration, I may end up with 2 after this. Though my room has no window opposite the TV, only 1 small window to the side, which has a blackout blind.

the thing is ihave only seen one set of recommended pic settings. so like a complete tool i just put them in all of them , then realising after Dho!!! "what about night time viewing" lol

my tv btw is a lg 60UH850V

On a lesser panasonic where you only have one config per hdmi socket that changing just the gamma provides a reasonable night/day switch so you have a lower gamma value 1.8 at night time with more darker shades and switch to a higher gamma in the day eg 2.2 so picture is brighter

Hi DataVampire
I have an entry level 40" Lg UHD TV using these basic settings for night time viewing,I just up the backlight to 65-85 and increase the Contrast and Brightness by one or two for day time use.

Cinema(user)
Backlight 35
Contrast 8o
Brightness 51
Sharpness 12
Colour 53
Tint R1

I can post *my Picture Option and Expert control settngs for any one that has the same Lg 40UF675V Television, through a Sky+box R014.at 1080i Viewing from about Seven Feet away.
*Done by eye but you can - or + the settings one or two points to suit your own eyesight.

1.8 gamma for night viewing would give very elevated shadow detail and a less contrast picture. While 2.2 would crush shadow detail from daylight and give a more contrast picture.
