  • She has no HD sources and will pretty much be only watching Freeview HD
  • She also wants a DVD player so I will get here a cheap blu ray but the majority of her content will be DVD, so no need for 4K
  • It is replacing a 52" rear projection so really needs to be 50" min
  • Budget up to £600
  • She has no internet so Smart functions not necessary
  • She has no interest in 3d

From what I have read at the moment this is the top contender but any other options

Both stores on limited stock and both have a very good guarantee included.

I'd try my luck at JL with a price match, they're great for that, I got £100 back on my Panasonic P50GT50 a week after I had it sitting in my bedroom:cool:

Better off getting it from here

Bit more expensive but RS 'last few to clear' mean display models only. I doubt your mum will want a telly that will have been on in a shop every day for an average of 6 hours for the best part of a year. I don't think this will be the case with JL if you order it online.

I second that, theres nothing wrong with richer sounds, but john lewis are easier to deal with.

Did manage to get a new one from RS. Just briefly set it up for my mum but seemed a nice tv for the price. Maybe because it was just set up and not networked but the EPG seemed a bit laggy
