Hi everyone,

I have a Sony KD55S8005C, it was purchased on the 12th July this year from Argos in store. Today whilst watching TV a fault appeared and nothing seems to fix it, there is a vertical line permanently stuck down the screen, between 2-3 inches wide. It is white but when the TV has picture it shows all sorts of bright vivid colours.

I am attaching some pictures to get the idea of what I mean, can anyone advise on what this is and what I should do please?

Argos policy
If you’ve had it for over 30 days but less than 1 year:

We’ll assess what’s wrong and then we’ll usually:

arrange a free repair
or send round an engineer
or offer you a refund

try the live chat first, they'll probably direct you to instore, take the receipt and photos to store see what they say

Cheers, tried live chat. They suggested phoning Sony to see what they say and Sony may give me a reference number to take to store.
That make any sense?

I phoned them, I can return the TV instore for a replacement. This TV is no longer in stock and I am not sure if any in the same price range match the specs of this TV. I've spent an hour trying to see what would suit but none seem to.

Am I eligible for a refund based on this?
