**TWO INCREDIBLE GTX 580 DEALS!!**

I recently purchased a GTX480 for £155 brand new, Agreed these 580s are a step above mine but for the money, they are no deal, more a joke aimed at the uninformed unless as said, they are for the SLi crew!

I looked at 480s from OCUK and a 670 windforce 3 before i purchased, sadly the prices of these on this site are not really competitive and as such lost my custom on this occation.

The amount that's being reported and that amount it actually needs is completely different. A lot of that 1.6Gb is buffered textures that aren't being used.
All textures are buffered, and that's why graphics cards have VRAM. The more textures that are buffered, the less chance you will experience slowdowns. If 1.5GB VRAM is fully written, new textures cannot be loaded until old textures are flashed. This takes time and can cause slowdowns or stutter. It is far quicket to write new textures to unallocated/free VRAM.

In short, all VRAM being allocated = bad.

£300 for a 580? I had to check the date there because I thought someone bumped a 2 year old thread.

Honestly don't know how you'll manage to shift these as such prices. The only people I can see buying these is people who have no computer knowledge.
