** TWO INCREDIBLE PRE-ORDER DEALS FOR CHRISTMAS!! **

Unless you have these particular cards to hand, it's impossible for you to comment that they are 'all the same' and not defective. These particular cards I've got could actually have ill fitted coolers. Do you actually think I'm new to this Pc lark? I've had most of the high end cards and never come across it this bad.

I can easily tell from your photo though.

I have a full blown Lightning on my desk and 8 Pack has one on his. I've compared your photo to both these cards and the gap is identical, basically what gap, unfortunately.

Yes its clearly a design flaw but there is no fix, there is no revision to the design, this is how they are.

Mine is exactly the same mate.

If you seen me in person, you'd realise this is not a strength issue. Look at the pic again. You are pushing a flimsy plastic connector up against the metal cooler which will not just lift by pushing the block in on mine. It would break if I just used brute force. With mine you have to physical pull the cooler up by hand to get the plug in and out.

Yeah i know i've never done it and wouldn't do it. It's only taking the **** and spoils it for everyone. I've been lucky enough to never had to send back a card in all the years i've been wasting money on them.

True, spoiled by the few. If you get a poor clocker, take it on the chin and hope you have more luck on the next one. So far most of my cards I've bought have been pretty decent.

That's my take on it too, i'll try make the best of it and if i'm still not happy i'll sell it and just play the silicon lottery again.

Got my lightning Today, didnt have a problem with the power connectors, yes they are a little tight but it wasnt an issue.

Havent recieved any game codes however , has anyone else recieved theirs ? if so were they in the box or did you get them in an email ?

Anyway first impressions are very good , Zero coil whine and clocked to 1200 in CCC with 50%+ powerlimits and no voltage adjustments, nice card and bargin price imho.

No game codes here either.
And nice, sounds like you got a really good one. Mine seems very average.

That's how I unplug mine I use one hand to make the gap between cooler and power connectors bigger and other hand to unplug or plug in as it's very tight.

Mine seems to get around 1235mhz with max volts.

Typical MSI this, had exactly the same with the last LE cards, they clocked just as well as full blown editions.

MSI overclock testing must be super extreme as that is a very good result on a 290X especially this far into its production cycle. :)
