Type R and VTEC owners

I think it's more of a new thing with him, new dad, last job would get £10k bonus a year, doubt he's on £25k here.

Expense, rarity etc I can understand not taking it out all the time or every day use. I know TTS had it on some track days testing it etc and he definitely drove it when he first had it.
Still, my point is that 8 pot calipers are complete overkill on an EP3, even at that power. I bet they're K Sport or some other brand as well.
 
I suppose that depends on the person and what they value, I'd rather have overkill brakes on my car than ever risk brake fade like I've had on my GTI.
A friend of mine managed to set fire to a set of the cheaper 4 pot and above brakes... on the road. AP/Brembo/Alcon 4 pot is likely to be much better but some people think more is better.
 
I've been getting thoughts about an FK8 again. As much as I love my FD2, the chassis and high rev crazyness on track, I feel the urge for something far more refined on a daily journey with a bit of shove. I just fear I may find it boring on track as it's so capable.
