Type R and VTEC owners

Thats a very small difference between town and Motorway. If it does 35mpg tops on the Motorway surely it's closer to 20 around town? And if it does just under 30 around town it's gotta be over 40 on the Motorway, surely?

No. K20 series will top out at 40 mpg if you drive at 60 mph and are really really careful, but most normal people doing 70-80 mph will see around 25 mpg. The K24 in the Accord sport will do just under this due to being a slightly larger lump (albeit with longer gear ratio's). Most K series will average around 28-30 mog, and do around 25 mpg in town driving.

I'm unsure if the Accord Sport came with an auto option, but someone in work had a tourer 2.4 petrol Accord and he struggled getting 30 out of it. Thirsty beasts.

So its really quite economical around town but very poor on the Motorway?

How come? 25mpg around town from a 2.4 litre Accord sounds excellent.

I haven't owned an Accord but I don't think the engine performance in terms of economy would be too indifferent to the K20. I've never had sub 20 mpg out of a K20 except on track, and that's with spirited driving.

My thirsty beast comment was aimed at the auto Accord, it seems to be around 5+ mpg worse off than its manual equivalent.

Does anyone else have an EP3 that makes a quiet 'woo woo woo woo woo...' noise, regardless of temperature that increases in frequency/pitch as road speed increases? Road/engine noise drown it out, and it's most noticeable from 25-35MPH.

Mine has done it for 4 years, and 2 Honda garages and my usual mechanic have been unable to diagnose, so it's nothing obvious. It's not got any worse over the years and there are no ill effects at all, so doesn't seem to be a wheel bearing something similar.
What tyres have you had on over the years and how often and in what pattern are they changed?

It did it with the **** budget tyres on when I got the car, and it has remained the same when I've fitted new tyres since (FK452s). Tyre wear has no effect on the noise. It doesn't change with rotating tyres from front to rear, and always sounds like it comes from the front of the car.

Weird, it definitely sounds like a tyre related issues.

Brakes been looked at?

Off topic slightly

My K20A3 disagrees with you. Motorway@ 70 with cruise control on is definately higher than that. Real world tends to be 42-45 with indicated being as high as 48. I get 35 measured/real world on my normal a road blast to work and I work the full rev range every drive; indicated being 38. Recently averaged 38 on a run to Devon from Chichester.
Fair play. It is probably due to the longer gearing than in typical boxes attached to the K20. I'm talking more about the performance orientated K20 series engines such as the K20A, K20A2 and K20Z2, K20Z4 etc etc..

Not sure why I put K20Z2 in that list.

Anyway, all K series are i-VTEC. And I'm pretty sure on your car it's the intake cam not exhaust cam that it operates on.

The ATR has had its aircon fixed at long last, new condenser and new hose going from the condenser and it's sorted.

Also had the drop links changed all round and plan on getting some other bushes done in the coming months.

I need some tyres for my eg6, no more then £45 a corner, can get them fitted for a pint or two (usually just slap on whatever budgets the local indy has).

Looking on camskill, what would you guys recommend from this link for 195/50/15's ?
( Just sort by price lowest first)

Was thinking the T1R and they are also the cheapest but read they aren't good in the wet and wear super quick so then I was thinking rainsport/experts but have found people saying they suck in the dry?
Any input appreciated

These were fine on my DC2 for the price.

I've bought 4 tyres from tyretraders and they are excellent and more often than not cheaper than most online etailers.

Saw an awesome looking subtly modified FN2 Type R yesterday. It was in yellow with black alloys, tinted and various parts like the spoilers in black. Looked like a proper spaceship!

Also VTEC helped me teach an impatient idiot a lesson yesterday. :)

Anyone know if the ATR came without the brash big spoiler? I'm thinking they might make a good sleeper without it.

Edit: Something like this would be perfect

Spoiler delete is a factory option on ATR's iirc. Unsure whether it's all models or facelift only though.

That is not genuine Spoon.

There should be a plaque on the back box itself, not that it's hard to replicate, but anyway, it's painfully obvious that it's a fake.

yep thats why alarm bells were ringing straight away for me. in honesty, its just a lesson learned. I guess I am used to trading high value goods on our MM and take what sellers say as gospel.

in fairness, I could easily just put another 150 into my funds and get a new N1 direct from spoon. :o

Not sure why, but most scammers seem to be on car forums.

MM seems to be spot on as far as I've used it, shame really that there's not such a trusting market for car owners. Scams or dodgy sales have been few and far between on TRO, but it is a pain to look after.

I have no idea, sorry!

That site is good, ordered 4 tyres from them so far and no issue. 2 were fitted, other two delivered to a garage which they had no problems with. Quite liking my RE002.
