Tyres Query

Many thanks for your replies,

I've come to the conclusion that it probably makes the most sense to get all 4 tyres done and request that I keep the 5mm. That way the 5mm can be left in my garage or in the car, should a puncture develop and be fitted. I know fitting and refitting can cause wear and tear, but how is that for a plan?

Thanks,

David

That's the option I would go for.

The last time I changed less than 4 tyres at the same time was 8 years ago when I got a puncture on a 2 week old car. :(

Many thanks for all your help.

Paradigm - I checked the cage and it looks like it will be an **** to remove - so I'm going to have to leave it on by the looks of it :(

I just got myself a rim with a bad tyre from eBay, which is going to be replaced with a cpc5 tyre along with 3 other wheels. I'm going to keep the 5mm tyre in my garage as a spare.

I phoned a couple of car dismantlers who didn't have the rims I needed, so I looked to eBay.

Thanks again,

David

Just ordered the same tyre in the same size for the mrs's Yaris :)

£170 is a cracking price for all 4 delivered

I'm a little confused why you're buying an extra wheel?

Just get the 4 tyres changed and keep the spare tyre - what is the extra wheel for?

Many thanks for your replies all,

bledd - did you purchase from Tyretraders? They can deliver a set of 4 for £164 for me, but I would have to get them fitted & balanced by someone.

kenai - it's mainly so I can just take the entire wheel off and put the entire wheel on, a bit lazy of me really. Plus I worry a little about the same tyre being fitted and removed too many times.

I'll keep it in my garage though, as it will just weigh down my car.

Although my space saver does look ropey, so I may have to just remove it completely and carry that as a spare.

Thanks,

David

No, I went with blackcircles, £6 more expensive, but I already have an account with them and couldn't be bothered to type any details in :D

These are getting fitted today. They seem like very soft sidewalls!

Guess it won't really matter on the Yaris
