interesting :)

Speaking in a recent interview, a member of the Ubisoft team revealed that the hard drive and Bly-ray technology involved in the PS3 is making their life easier during Far Cry 2 development. So therefore, in terms of AI, game structure, open world gameplay and other such things run very well on the PS3. However, the interviewee was quick to note that the performance of the PS3 game will just fall short in achieving high-end PC performance.

"The hard drive and Blu-ray are making our life easy considering FC2 is an open world continuously streamed around the player," said Guay.

"That streaming bandwidth and disk space is very appreciated. So, in terms of AI, game structure, physics, dynamic time of day, open world gameplay, dynamic weather system, destructible vegetation, all of those things where we had really pushed the envelope technically, they run well on PS3."

But no matter how good the PS3 specs are, Far Cry 2 for the console won't quite match the output on top of the line PCs.

"However, the good news is that since PS3 players are not outputting over the top resolutions like high end PC users, this is not a big deal," he explained.

I can see this, more so the inclusion of a HDD over Blu-Ray, it was completely stupid of MS to not include a HDD as standard, and quite why they still have a SKU without one on the shelves is beyond me.

Both Sony and MS have made mistakes this gen, lets hope they learn from them and next gen is even better.

In the future they could easily have games for 360 that "require" the 360 harddrive, it is not as tho the arcade console can not be upgraded.

Additionally the 360 harddrive could have a significant drop in price... lots of easy solutions IMO :)

There are already a couple of games that require the hard drive, we just need more developers to do it now.

If you don't have the HDD and want to play the game? Go buy the HDD.

Unfortunately it's probably not going to happen.

Problem is the HDD's are a rip off!

Poor little Jonny down the road who's parents kindly bought him a Core/Arcade 360 for Christmas just bought Burnout with his spends, and now he can't play it as intended online with his mates because his 360 has no HDD.

no.1 they should have a sticker on the front of the Burnout box that says "this game needs a HDD if you want to play online" not a tiny box on the back of the box. and no.2 they should give the HDD's a reasonable price - no 3rd party HDD's means MS can charge you what they like, and they do.

interesting :)

Not really.

Are we really going to have a new thread for every small and insignificant pro-PS3 diatribe you stumble across?

Everytime I look at this forum these days it's the same weary tiresome fangirls trying to somehow justify their purchases.

If it really was interesting you'd have said more than one word about it.

It would be easier for us to lobby MS to un-ban his 360. He was so pro MS and the 360 right up until that happened. How dare they ask him to pay for his games, which ironically he does on the PS3 :p

Would you complain if it was about the 360? Unlikely. :)

I thought the PS3 output was 1080p? Which is the highest most PC users will be using, and I'd imagine most won't even be going that high.

If I give you my old 360 games will you turn the love around again :p

If they stop you downloading hero's on torrents will you hate that too ;)

Don't hate MS because your stealth skills are weak old man :)

lol, i don't hate MS, just their console - hardware is shocking as is the noise, i'm actually thinking about getting a cheap arcade (would be my 4th console bought) for LIVE for any MS specific titles but when looking at what games i want for it i can only really think of HALO 3 as i have Burnout Paradise, COD4, UT3 for online play on the PS3. Then i have to pay for LIVE which TBH i didn't use that much to warrent £40 sub even more so seeing its free on PSN with no difference in playing
