UEFA Champions League 2010/11 Matchday 6 *** Spoilers ***

Dead Rubber game for us over in Turkey but there is a bit to play for still, top 4 3rd Placed teams are seeded for the Europa League last 32 or something like that

Good oppurtunity to get some minutes on the park for a fit again Beattie, he needs that right now and maybe tinker with the formation a bit.

Bougherra is back and will start which is good news and we will no doubt line up a little something like this.

GK McGregor

DR Whittaker
CB Weir
CB Bougherra
DL Foster

MR Naismith
MC McCulloch
MC Davis
MC Hutton
ML Weiss (Should be playing on right)

CF Miller/Beattie (Would like to see Beattie get some time on the pitch)

Some good width to support the lone striker is a good idea as the Turks are there to be got at. Can't see us adopting anything other than 4-5-1 or 5-4-1 but should be a bit more attacking like the home games against Bursa and Valencia.

Surely it would be better to face them later in the competition? For financial and ranking reasons if for nothing else?

Hope we play a strong team against Valencia, something like the below;

GK: VDS

RB: Rafael
CB: Smalling
CB: Vidic
LB: Evra

RM: Nani
CM: Carrick
CM: Scholes
LM: Giggs

CF: Rooney
CF: Hernandez

Should be enough to see us through in top spot :)

Just saying, if we did play them in the knock out stage, no shame in going out to them, as long as we dont get beat 5-0. lol

SAF has said to be playing STRONG team for tomorrows game. I guess this is a shot at the young players for screwing up against west ham.

Looking forward to the Inter match with Werden Bremen, although they have qualified they wanna top the group ahead of spurs. Coming from a defeat of Lazio lets see how Rafa can entertain us.

:D...young?....utd had 2 players under 20?
Looking forward to watching spurs tomorrow and hopefully them losing so they can face a top team and hopefully go out, so i dont have to suffer more your not in the champions league anymore.

Complete opposite. I want them playing as many non EPL games as possible, so their league form can suffer and it will all have been for a few extra million and some higher wage demands ;)

I imagine United will probably play out a score-draw this evening. Wouldn't be surprised by a win or loss either to be fair given the lack of pressure on the side tonight.

Hopefully a few more youth/reserve players are given a chance because I'm sure after the disaster at West Ham, unless they can prove substantially in training they have a future, they all have question marks over their heads now.

The likes of Obertan, Hernandez etc I would like to see given a run out.

I wondered how long it would take, well done Mods :)

Thank god...

Not looking forward to the Arsenal game...my heart says we should win it easily but then my mind says....the way Arsenal defend for 90 mins i wouldnt be at all surprised if we struggle.

Hopefully we can get a good result...kinda sucks that we wont be top of the table...actually unbelievable that we wont be as we lost 2 games in the group that, to be fair we shouldnt have lost. And coupled with the fact that we scored the most goals in all of the CL groups, got a record 15 goals, its depressing that we havent ended up on top.

Dude, it's Partizan Belgrade. We easily beat them in Belgrade with only 3 floodlights working and hardly what you'd consider our strongest line up. We will batter them at The Emirates. I thought that about when we went to Braga and look what happened there, but this is different, it's a home game for a start, our only noticeable injures are Vermaelen and Cesc though he says he will be fit for the Man Utd game. Belgrade haven't exactly got a massive attacking threat, much less than Braga anyway, we won't even have to play well to beat them.

Even if you start with a central defence of Squillaci and Koscielny we should easily win this one, just don't start Walcott, Bendtner and Vela and everything will be fine. I reckon we'll put 4 past them.

As Fergie has already stated - would you (if you were manager) let the 1st team play against Arsenal after not playing for over 2 weeks.....I certainly wouldnt

Think it will be a very strong team that takes the pitch, with Hernandez on the bench

Winning counts (even if only because the 2nd knock out game is at OT) and it would be great not to concede.....

Can't wait for tonights game now that I've learned Man U can make history by being the first team to ever get past the group stage without conceding a goal!
