UEFA Euro 2012 - Group B - ** spoilers ** (Denmark, Germany, Holland, Portugal)

Forgot to mention that the Dutch and Germans have had some bad blood between themselves ont he pitch. Still remember Italia 90 when Rijkaard spat in Vollers hair:p

Wonder if any of that will be happening tonight:p

Denmark deserved to lose basically, but a harsh way to lose. They were just far too slow in attack, they scored two and looked a vastly improved team when they did the basics right, pass forward instead of backwards, pass into space, pass quickly. For the majority of the game they passed slowly, often went backwards for a safe pass rather than an attacking pass.

Portugal, just odd, Nani was actually very good but I somehow didn't really get the impression he was that involved in the game if you know what I mean? Ronaldo, right positions, right movement, right runs, horrible finishing. I think being the captain and having no where near enough game winners in the team means he's basically the guy everyone looks to for winning cups for him, like Messi I think that works against him badly for country. Real have plenty of other good players to get goals, and Barca have the same, Messi and Ronaldo might be their best players but they know if they have a **** game there are 5 other guys who will step up, for country both players are under dramatically more pressure(Ronaldo much more so than Messi IMHO). Being captain as well is asking for trouble, he always looks pressured and not relaxed, for Real he'd have gotten 3-4 goals in that game with those chances.

Bendtner, again excellent distribution, he always finds the guy in the most space and passes every time he can to someone who can run or pass forwards and attack. Both finishes were great, the first was simple but, he won the long ball header and got it too a team mate, got the ball back and found Jacobsen in a huge amount of space, got in a position to score, was ready for the ball and finished an easy chance. Second goal was an excellent header, great movement again and as close to the post as he could put it with decent power.

If Denmark actually attacked more throughout and got Bendtner the ball more they could well have gotten a point, or more out of it. I can't see them getting a point off Germany because they'll likely play the same way, timid, mostly poor football.

Both Poulsen's were awful, and Eriksen did almost everything in the game wrong, weak in the tackle, poor passing, wrong choice of just about everything he tried.
