nope this only applies to the crap employers who take the 8 bank holidays a year out of people's statutory 20 days. this means they get 12 days to themselves if they have paid bank holidays. i've never worked for a company that does that but i know people who do. it's ******* wrong. i'm glad it's being changed. :)

We had the opportunity to 'buy' an extra 5 days this year. ****ing cheek.
I always have that opportunity. I can also sell days.

What's cheeky about it? :/

I only get 20 here, minus the days between xmas and new year. SO this year I got 17 :( + bank holidays though.

Also the company are going to the Carribean and the office is closed for 4 days so I don't have to come in (I joined the company too late for the holiday :()

Ah, I wasn't counting bank holidays. I've also had 4 lieu days I think. So thats 37, plus bank Holidays (think thats 8?) so I'm looking at 45+ this year :)

Unfortunately I now work elsewhere whenever I'm not in this job!

Got given 25 and carried over 7 from last year, have been told that the office will be closed the christmas week and we have to take 2 days holiday for it :o
tho they are giving us a extra 2 days so why they just didnt say the office would be closed i dont know

exactly same here.

I do have about a 8 days flexi though... but not allowed to use it ?? :(

I get 25 + 8 bank holidays, which is quite good really. I've also been on a flexi-time contract for the last 2 years which means I can have 2-2½ days off a month provided I put in the hours (about 45mins extra a day or something). So I've probably had a further ~20 days off this year, just not in one chunk.

You won't be able to sell days anymore, not the 28 statuatory days anyway, they've decided we NEED 28 days and we'll darn well have them off if we like it or not :(

As in if you don't take them you can't have them for salary at the end of the year?

Damn, I guess I better start taking holiday.

Yeah, I can only sell to the current statutory amount anyway :)

The Netherlands is also at the bottom, why do I only get 27 when someone in Denmark gets almost 40

Mind you, I am glad I don't work in Canada or Japan with only 10 :o
