I thought it was a bit ridiculous when the narrative was Russia would run out of cruise missiles after the first week.

I think they've probably burnt through the amount they'd have liked to have kept it to for this "operation" and now into stock they'd probably rather hold in reserve in case of a bigger conflict (not Ukraine). They still seem to have plenty of rockets and missiles in general - there is a convoy of dozens of MLRS near Kharkiv been sighted for instance.

Looks like there's a big hole in the side at the waterline below the main structure.

Yep missiles penetrated under the waterline and exploded inside, basically it hit the sweet spot of the ship cutting the ship in two as far as combating the fire.

What I would say is dosnt look like much of a storm from them photos.

Ye but the talk was that they was in a heavy storm so might of helped the missiles with hitting.
Ah right I see where you're coming from.

There is a video out there, not sure if all is from Ukraine though it purports to be, of Russian soldiers shooting themselves in the head with their personal weapons doing the stupidest of things like trying to ride a bicycle while resting the butt of their machinegun on the handle bars with the muzzle under their chin...

The smoking and laughing guy? That was back in 2021. Ukrainian soldier. It was a suicide, his name was Alexey Saenko.

That hole is how a sea skimming missile is supposed to work, unlike the hits on the USS Stark, this one is lower down (4m or lower) and would have resulted in instant flooding , coupled with a large fire. Cruise is at 15meters and they drop lower for terminal attack; if the Moskva even picked it up at 4meters it would have around 90 seconds too track and engage it. As with the USS Stark, it is thought the CIWS was in standby, and there isnt enough time to `boot up` the gun in that time - think HDD equipped pc.

*snip happy pics*

Gotcha!

War is not funny.

Death is not funny

Whether it is funny or not, the destruction of any Russian military asset is to be celebrated. Doubly so when it's the flagship of their Black Sea fleet. Biggest sinking of a military vessel in a conflict since WWII, larger even than the Belgrano.

This, but sadly there seems to be some sick fascination surrounding this Urkraine/Russia situation with some people who love watching this type of media of things get blown up, attacks, violence, people being murdered and other nasty stuff.

When this media hits a degenerate low by their standards they get surprised and offended.

Some people seem to think it is just another video game.

Anything that weakens the Russian war machine should be celebrated. Their armed forces are the aggressors here and have committed war crimes. If you are expecting people to cry when those carrying out a war of aggression die then you don't have much of an understanding of human nature. Also watching war has always been fascinating to humans. Just look at The History Channel, half of its programming is war footage.
