What will turn the tide is when russia is found to be using chinese inventory arm (chinese cruisemissles for example) or export stock prior to export or reimported from partners.

What is joe public going to do with outdated still images anyway.

What is available to the public is well behind in time and resolution compared to what is available to governments and the military, etc. but it can still be useful for OSINT purposes which can get a bigger ball rolling in some cases.

It's not really a surprize is it.
I mean, everytime someone who thinks for themselves instead of blindly believing what they are told, decides to talk a little sense, there is always a media controlled, brainwashed moron that tries their very best to bring us down (not you by the way).
You know, like the ones who find out how many times you've posted in X amount of years, then try their best to belittle you with what they find. When in truth, they are the fools for having to go that far to make themselves look good and you look bad, instead of having a constructive conversation like normal civilized people.
And you wonder why we don't want to keep coming back?
Interesting, would you mind posting in one of the covid threads? I'd be interested in reading your input there too.

Not "needing" one is not the same "can't afford one"
Russia is one of the only countries in the world that has paid back it's debts in recent years, they have the money to make them without going into debt.
They "choose" not to have them because they have absolutely no need to be aggressive, Russia has very high natural gas reserves (probably why the yanks are circling their country with bases), and it's making them very rich.
They spend just what they need on defense rather than offense (just like we do now) because they don't plan on invading every country rich in natural resources like the Americans have done since WW2.

Sorry I've got to quote this post. Defo not invading any countries and this post was after the invasion of Crimea.

^^ As an aside it is quite amusing reading some of the older Russian shills, etc. posts here and elsewhere in the light of recent weeks...

Well worth a watch if you want a better understanding.

06:47 onwards if you want to cut to the chase.

I don't have time to do the video justice and have only dipped in at points but despite some nods to things like Russia developing its own military industrial base to make up for parts shortages, etc. etc. it doesn't seem from what I can see to take into account that despite the vast economic over-match between the West and Russia, the West can't afford to go all North Korea style, while Russia may be forced to so as to survive which will narrow the disparity when it comes to the needs of their people (food, etc.) and pumping out military equipment and supporting a war.

While it might be pretty grim with many having little more than basic essentials, Russian people in general are somewhat used to that, over time those who remember how things used to be will be marginalised by people who'll blame the West for their unfortunate situation rather than their government, will increasingly be prepared to be part of military action against the West, etc.

Interestingly on the one hand Russia seems to have learnt some lessons - the convoys moving towards the front lines in Donbas, etc. are using better tactics to protect themselves from ambush, air and artillery, etc. but on the other hand they are still heavily leaning on armour without infantry support despite not having a particular shortage of infantry but they bring them up the rear... but hey ho don't interrupt the enemy when they are making a mistake and all that.

As above this is the bulk of combat which is going on right now:

Russia is as per doctrine trying to soften up before moving forward to contact range.

Can't say I'm that surprised it's started, I thought Russia might take another week to prepare but with all the weapons that are going into Ukraine I guess Russia wants to strike now before Ukraine gets too strong.
