"Putin would never ______" doesn't fit with the "Don't make Putin angry because he will launch nukes." warnings we see anytime we do more to help Ukraine.

If he's worried about harming our first lady, he certainly isn't ready to end the whole plannet.
 
Ehhh good luck convincing every fighter in the area that you're a super important person and not to be harmed as you walk into a warzone.

Don't think the UK military will ever forget the time they let a prince wander off by himself in another war in another time and he got carved up because the lads he ran into didn't give a ****.

Just because western forces rofl stomped the Iraqis doesn't mean it doesn't count, lots died, lots of complex planing and 100,000 + troops and equipment were in theatre.

No. Both lasted about 5 weeks. The only reason it lasted as long was the distances they had to drive. Overwhelming firepower on one side. Iraqi National guard General bribed by Yanks to remove his tanks and backup out of the way. About as much of a war as America invading Grenada.
Press embedded in forces all along which is massively different from free reporting.

Okay so a war has to last a certain period of time and both have to be of comparable strength to qualify as war?

France lasted a week longer in WWII than iraq, I guess that doesn't count?

Up to 35,000 Iraq's and around 250 coalition deaths would beg to differ on your take on what constitutes a war.

I think a lot of history books need to be re written then as most feature a one sided force and a swift end, going on your knowledge of the matter .....said no one ever.

Something I find a bit confusing though - Ukraine claimed Russia had basically levelled all the structures on the island early on in this war - which doesn't appear to be the case.

(I'm assuming the impacts to the bottom of the island as per the image above is from the older Russian bombardment, aside from the one where the Mi-8 got hit, there also appears to be at least one significant bit of damage near the top I'm not sure the origins of).

EDIT: That doesn't seem right as an older image only shows some destroyed buildings in the centre.

There's a video of two Ukranian jets hitting the island yesterday. They cleared out the AA with the drone strikes then hit it with air strikes and drone strikes on boats/heli.

Absolutely. I had a relative who was in iraq. The various forces did their absolute best hide what they were doing from the press. By the time the press got there the bulldozers had already been in tidying up.
 
By Putin's logic calling Ukraine Nazi's.. what about the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact?

If he's going to call a group of people tactically siding with the Nazi's to suit their own aim, then shouldn't he also be calling the Soviet Union Nazi's too?
 
Putin's nazi argument is hilarious, the nazis in the ukranian parliament represented at their height the 9% of the votes. It would have been better from him just saying i am invading Ukraine for the Lulz.
 
Any predictions for tomorrows victory day?
Heard lots of talk about a potential general mobilization and making the war formal on their part... I'm not skipping cake tonight regardless.

Probably roll in some nuke loaded carriers and launch them from Red Square.

Since Putin's got the hots for the UK I'm surprised there's not been any terrorist type attacks on UK soil, sleeper cells etc.

true, gotta be honestly.. slightly concerned about this whole posideon torpedo they've been banging on about.. at first i thought it was a stupid concept and they couldn't possibly make a tidal wave.. i remember seeing a kurzgesagt video about a nuke blowing up underwater and it basically doing nothing..
But as someone who lives on the north-west coast.. I'm not very happy of the idea of being covered in a 500m high radioactive wave.

Who cares, if anyone launches anything everyone will be dead (on both sides), radioactive wave of 5 million feet tall or not.
