So the water freezes and becomes ice and thennits super slippy and dangerous instead? So still it being below the walking path would be useful. Yes they'd have to dig a ft deeper but that better than current conditions otherwise. The water will be ice soon, no need for bread crates lol
Where mobile warfare is not possible it will always result in digging trenches and fighting/defending for meters of land, it's the most logical thing to do in a war, fortify your positionBecause is was pretty much universally accepted it was an outright mistake the first time round.
The war to end all wars.
The fact we are here again is pure idiocy. If you get to trech warefare it's time to go home.
Look at bingham67's last post, the conditions are terrible. I saw one video of two guys walking across a muddy field and it was the equivalent of walking through sand dunes but with mud. To advance you need to be able to move quickly and have flexibility of going off road none of which is currently possible.I keep hearing how poorly equipped the The Russians are, morale through the floor, badly armed, no leadership... You'd think UKR would be advancing more rapidly if that were the case yet here they are bogged down in trench warfare.

Lets fit insulated panels then lol--So the water freezes and becomes ice and thennits super slippy and dangerous instead? So still it being below the walking path would be useful. Yes they'd have to dig a ft deeper but that better than current conditions otherwise.
Indeed, I was thinking the the floor crate would have fold out sides that are 2ft in height (width of the trench dug). Its onkt retaining minimal water and they would clip together. Most if it will be groundwater, digging below the water table. But yes trying to raise the floor above it is good with the downside that shelter from attack is less.
Thats the Wagner units they are fighting, but most of the hardened ones are dead now, a good thing, the head of Wagner apparently did a Putin and recruited anyone they could get their hands on, wages were good but life expectancy sucks.
Kiev announces that water, electricity and gas supplies will be «almost fully» restored this Sunday
Authorities in Ukraine's capital, Kiev, announced Sunday that water, electricity and gas supplies will be restored "almost completely" throughout the day, as repair work on the system is in its final stage.
More importantly it depletes the stock they've got for real military targets and given the sanctions/corruption they probably can't replace them.It doesn't seem cost effective for the Kremlin.
Every time they do these 100 missile volleys it costs them $1 billion and what do they achieve, Kyiv is without electricity for 3 days? Doesn't seem worth it no?
Not if they can buy replacements from Iran. I mean it's what UKR is doing from NATO countries.More importantly it depletes the stock they've got for real military targets and given the sanctions/corruption they probably can't replace them.
Every missile they waste on terror tactics means there is one less they can use against the military on the front fighting their troops, it's a tactic like the massive indiscriminate artillery barrages against towns that might work well as a terror tactic if you've got enough ammo to waste, but it's a hell of a bet to take when you can't replace those munitions easily and you've decided to use them on civilian targets rather than to support your troops against the armed enemy.
IIRC even the US tends to be fairly careful about where/when they use things like cruise missiles, as they're both expensive and time consuming to replace so the US tends to make sure they're actually being used against specific worthwhile targets.

Depends on how much stock we are willing to sell them. I suspect Iran will go "fill ya boots and we'll send you the bits so you can make them yourself" Nato counties seem to be "You can have our cast offs so long as you don't leave us short"I just have this sinking feeling Iran will play a bigger part in this, the longer it goes on.Bit of a difference getting stocks from a dozen countries vs 1 other heavily sanctioned country.
