For anyone who has seen the movie "Angel has fallen" it was a glimpse into future warfare.A bit.
More that drones will be used extensively as a military weapon, which changes things in ways we can't yet understand.

That drone swarm in the movie is in a way currently at work in Ukraine.
You could weaponise cheap drones in their millions and with such huge swarms it would be almost impossible to defeat them
Low altitude, near silent until its to late, black on black at night the damage they could do to man and armour in high numbers would be considerable.
Drones are the future of war, Cruise missiles for long range will still bee needed but air defence is so good now not many get to target.
Only a matter of time before they have some radar controlled weapon and a grape like round to counter them.
It's a small village south of Bakhmut but looking at he location it gives the Russians access to the rail plus the local road network going either side of it. Depending on how vital will determine if Ukraine will counter attack or not but so long as they can keep chewing up Russian infantry there more likely to keep their forces held back to strike elsewhere.

US eyes long-range rockets for Ukraine as arms supplies dwindle
The Pentagon is considering a proposal to supply Ukraine with cheap, small precision bombs fitted onto abundantly available rockets,
allowing Kyiv to strike far behind Russian lines as the West struggles to meet the demand for more weapons.
US and allied military inventories are shrinking, and Ukraine faces an increasing need for more sophisticated arms as the war drags on.
He said falling US inventories help explain the rush to get more arms now,
saying stockpiles are “getting low relative to the levels we like to keep on hand and certainly to the levels we’re going to need to deter a China conflict”.
I saw that, a little worrying. But one village for the sake of how many men? good lord. It's a small village south of Bakhmut but looking at he location it gives the Russians access to the rail plus the local road network going either side of it. I am really beginning to come around to the idea that Russia needs a taste of it's own medicine.

I did see a video - but haven't watched it yet - about why Bakhmut is so important to the Russians.
