I'm not equating them, Russia is clearly in the wrong for invading Ukraine and the story about the beheading is definitely above anything I've seen reported by Ukrainian troops.

Ukraine was and almost certainly is still corrupt.

Obviously Russia will want to point fingers not from a morally superior position but because it might help damage relations with Ukraines backers if there's truth to this specific claim.

Any other links? I'm not saying it's false but I am saying that a Russian news agency reporting on Ukraine is about as reliable as a report by North Korea's propaganda ministry on the quality of Kim's basketball skills, hence I'd like to see a more credible source xD

The source is Hersh; the Russian media is simply carrying his story. It's also on The EurAsian Times.

Hersh gained a fresh wave of fame for his unsubstantiated claim that the US destroyed the NordStream pipeline. As before, he says he has an anonymous inside source for this.

I don't believe his NordStream story, and I'm not inclined to accept his latest one either. $400 million seems an impossibly high number, surely you could not conceal that level of fraud (not to mention the question of how Ukraine is still buying diesel if Zelensky nicked all the cash).

But Zelensky needs to respond as quickly and transparently as possible, because regardless of its validity, this story will simply add fuel to the flames of Western resentment among those who are growing tired of the war and/or already opposed to supporting Ukraine.

Twitter is full of idiots and Russian bots and has been getting worse because Twitter is no longer censoring or fact checking russian and Chinese government accounts - Elon musk deemed it to not be important so he fired 6000 workers

Oh a Russian news agency is saying it so it must be true, and of course its backed up by this mysterious CIA source.

So there it is folks the evidence is right there for all to see.
